Multi-Country Preparation Studies for Investments in the Water Sector

7. Contracts description: Background: The EIB has commissioned a
multi-country water sector assessment study (under way) covering eight
focus countries (Angola, Burundi, Congo-Brazzaville, Ghana, Kenya, Togo,
Rwanda, and Zambia) that is to identify suitable projects and scope of the
services necessary for further project preparation.
Depending on the number of countries and projects selected on the basis of
this study, the EIB intends to launch one or more contracts that will
include a number of detailed preparatory studies of different scope
(technical, financial, environmental and social).
8. Indicative budget for all contracts: Approx. 1 000 000 EUR
9. Intended timing of publication of the procurement notice: March 2010

11. Legal basis: Decision No. 1/2004 (2004/632/EC) of the ACP-EC Council
of Ministers of 6 May 2004 on the use of the reserve of the long-term
development envelope as well as resources from the Investment Facility of
the ninth European Development Fund for the establishment of an ACP-EU
Water Facility.
Remarks: There must be a minimum period of 30 calendar days between the
publication of this contract forecast and the publication of the
corresponding procurement notice.
