The Alexandria VA Medical Center Contracting Office intends to solicit and award a sole source agreement to Bayou Chateau Nursing Center, located in Simmesport, LA. The purpose of this contract is to place qualified veteran recipients whose home is in the immediate area of Simmesport, LA. The contract performance will be 1 year from date of contract award with four possible options periods available for extension, should the facility be needed beyond the initial year. The Government expects to award a Basic Order Agreement (BOA) under authority of 38 U.S.C. 1720. Services are to be provided as needed at the facility in Simmesport, which is located in Avoyelles Parish. The Alexandria VA Medical Center is located at 2495 Shreveport Highway 71 N, Pineville, LA 71360. The Alexandria facility is located in Rapides Parish. The contracted facility is expected to accept patients as needed and provide assisted living services throughout the contract period. This specific requirement includes the following timeframes for delivery: The facility that this notice is targeting will take qualified patients as needed and provide them with the services outlined in the agreement. The designated North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code for this procurement is 623110. The small business size standard is $13.5M. This synopsis is for notification purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation for bids or proposals. No solicitation will be published. Responses to this notice, if any, must show clear and convincing evidence that competition is attainable and more advantageous to the Government. This 'Notice of Intent' to issue a solicitation to a sole-source contractor is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination not to compete this proposed contract action is solely within the discretion and authority of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to solicit this requirement as a 'full & open' competitive procurement. No reimbursement for any costs associated with providing capability statements will be provided by the VHA.
