II.1.4) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): Swindon Borough
Council seeks suitably experienced companies to provide and maintain
replacement fitness equipment for the health & fitness gym at the Link
Sports Center in the first instance, then will be able to provide further
replacement fitness equipment and maintenance to other Sports Centers over
the 4 year term as and when requested to do so if further needs arise.
Companies will be required confirm in any submission that spares and
support will be availible for a minimum of 5 years after installation.
Companies wishing to tender will need to be able to provide a
comprehensive range of state-of-the-art cardiovascular, fixed weight and
free-weight resistance equipment suitable for use within a busy health and
fitness gym.
Cardiovascular equipment will need to include treadmills, upright and
recumbent cycles, elliptical cross trainers, steppers, rowers and upper
body ergo meters. Fixed weight resistance equipment will need to cover all
major muscle groups. All cardiovascular equipment (with the exception of
rowers) and all fixed-weight resistance equipment must offer users a
consistent style of screen for ease of use.
Suppliers should be able to offer integrated IT and retention-related
solutions on all equipment and integrated TVs and IPod docking on all
cardiovascular equipment (with the exception of rowers). The ability to
provide the fitness equipment will need to be backed up with a proven
track record in providing the highest levels of customer care and service
to meet the needs of a successful gym operating in many diverse markets.
