Commission, on behalf of and for the account of the beneficiary country,
Kabul, ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF AFGHANISTAN.
6. Description of the contract: This project focuses on irrigation
infrastructure rehabilitation and improvement works in 11 mainly
traditional earthen canals in the Taloqan and lower Kunduz sub-basin of
the Panj-Amu basin in Afghanistan. The project is a consolidation project
to complete or improve works carried out during previous contracts in the
same canals. The project contains 54 sub-projects, mainly in-canal
dividers, cross regulators and offtakes, all prioritised by water user
associations, active in these canals.
