Individual service contract forecast
1. Publication reference: EuropeAid/129-318/C/SER/AF/2009.

5. Contracting authority: The European Union, represented by the European
Commission, on behalf of and for the account of the beneficiary country,
Kabul, ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF AFGHANISTAN.
6. Nature of contract: Fee-based.
7. Contract description: The project will build on the achievement of the
ongoing animal health development project (AHDP) and should particularly
focus on the following fields: further definition of animal health and
welfare policy, roles and responsibilities through OIE-compliant primary
and supplementary legislation; improvement of standards in all areas of
animal health service activity; progress towards full integration of
para-professionals with the veterinary faculty, with a curriculum based
around day-one competencies; establishment of structures to support
private animal health service providers already demonstrating improvements
in the quality and financial sustainability of their services.
