Description and object of the contract.
Management of asbestos in all non-domestic Council buildings, involving
the following:
General management advice on current legislation.
Asbestos awareness training to Council staff.
Annual re-inspections (including difficult access areas) and updating
existing registers as necessary.
New Type 2 and Type 3 surveys with associated reports.
Maintaining electronic records for asbestos management available to all
building users.
Preparation of tender documents for asbestos removal contracts and
supervision of works on site.
Attendance at periodic review meetings with Council staff.
There will be a requirement for the Consultant to appoint a lead contact,
who will be based at the Council Offices in Elgin generally for 3 days per
week. A desk space and access to a PC will be provided free of charge.
The contract will be for 3 years, commencing 30.11.2009. The extension for
years 2 - 3 will be subject to satisfactory performance assessment
throughout Year 1.
