GAS TURBINE ENGINE OPERATOR SERVICES

The Gas Turbine Laboratory (GTL) of the National Research Council Canada (NRCC) periodically engages in projects that require additional support to meet project timelines. The NRCC-GTL requires engine operators with developmental engine testing experience to meet short and medium project requirements. As a result of increased work, the GTL does not maintain staff levels to satisfy peek operational needs and often requires additional engine operator and mechanical support.

The work requires preparation, installation, modification and operation of equipment, gas turbine engines and rigs in consultation with internal staff and clients. Additional tasks include assisting with the fabrication and calibration of test cell instrumentation and performing maintenance on equipment.

Work is planned and performed under the direction of Senior Technical Officers within the Propulsion group. As a team member, responsibility will be given to independently devise, assemble, test and operate components and sub-systems. Shift work is a requirement to meet the goals of the GTL.
