Maintenance of the system will be an option within the Invitation To
Tender.
Ticketing systems on Tyne & Wear Metro are life expired and Nexus is
taking the opportunity to update the system with a modern, cost effective
ticketing solution.
Replacement of the existing Metro Ticketing System includes "partly
closing" the network by adding ticket gates at strategic stations.
