GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE

COUNTRY: Armenia
NAME OF PROJECT: Second Additional Financing for Armenian Social Investment Fund (ASIF) III
GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE
Project ID No. P118158

The Republic of Armenia has applied for financing in the amount of US$ 7,000,000 equivalent from the World Bank toward the cost of the Second Additional Financing for Armenian Social Investment Fund III, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project. This project will be jointly financed by the Government of Republic of Armenia and the communities.
The proposed Second Additional Financing would scale-up activities under Component 1: Community Investments of the ASIF III Project, in support of small-scale infrastructure projects as a short-term solution to the crisis through immediate temporary work opportunities. The community infrastructure micro-projects to be financed would include the renovation and rehabilitation of key social infrastructure, covering primarily education (i.e., kindergarten, primary, secondary and special schools), health (i.e., primary healthcare facilities), multipurpose community centers, social service centers for vulnerable groups and water supply, small-scale water supply systems, small-scale sanitation systems, minor irrigation works and heating systems. Microprojects would also cover school heating systems, and the rehabilitation of gymnasiums and playgrounds. No new construction projects are envisaged. This Component would also finance goods for micro-projects, primarily in the form of furniture for rehabilitated schools and community centers. To ensure proper design and supervision of community infrastructure projects, the component would finance local consultancies for microproject design and supervision and field work.
Procurement of contracts financed by the World Bank will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits (May 2004,
Revised October 1, 2006), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines. Consulting services will be selected in accordance with the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (May 2004, Revised October 1, 2006).

Specific procurement notices for contracts to be bid under the World Bank’s international competitive bidding (ICB) procedures and for contracts for consultancy services will be announced, as they become available, in UN Development Business and dg Market .
