Assignment Description
The World-Bank/IFC Efficient Securities Market Institutional Development (ESMID) Program fosters the development of robust securities markets in developing countries. ESMID provides technical assistance to address the impediments to non-government bond market development.
In Nigeria, the program will work to improve the country’s ability to bring non-government bond transactions to market by (ii) strengthening the enabling environment, i.e. regulations, infrastructure, and professional capacity, and (ii) supporting replicable transactions.
ESMID Nigeria is to hire an Advisor to work with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in Nigeria on a resident basis, and to assist the SEC in improving regulatory framework and promoting the development of non-government bond markets. See attached document for detailed scope of work.
Funding Source:
The World Bank intends to finance the assignment/services described below under a trust fund from the IFC EFFICIENT SECURITIES MARKETS INSTITUTIONAL DEVELOPMENT (ESMID).

Individual Profile: The consultant should be an individual or an individual expert proposed by a firm.
Submission Requirements: The World Bank now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, etc.).
Interested consultants are hereby invited to submit expressions of interest.

Notes: Consultants will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the current edition of the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers.
Selection and contracting will normally be made from responses to this notification. The consultant will be selected from a shortlist, subject to availability of funding.
