RECOVERY - PER FAR 5.7 THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY; THEREFORE FAR 5.203 DOES NOT APPLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY WAS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTOR(S) UNDER: SEAPORT-E TASK ORDER N00178-04-D-4030-FD03. This effort is necessary to provide instrumentation support for model testing associated with Hybrid Electric Drive (HED) System Development for Surface Combatants project for the DDG 51 Class Ships. Note: this effort was initially awarded on June 17, 2009, as part of a larger funding action under modification 41 to this Task Order N00178-04-D-4030-FD03. The total amount obligated under modification 41 was $418,350; of which Recovery Act funds were $30,000 and the remaining $388,350 were non-Recovery Act funds. An individual Contract Subline Item (SLIN) has been established for this effort. The purpose for the instant action is to identify this effort in the Recovery Act Reporting system. This action was accomplished using other than competitive procedures because it was a modification to an existing task order under SeaPort-e and it was not awarded as a fixed-price type contract because this effort is closely associated with other on-going work under the task order in which uncertainties involved in contract performance do not permit costs to be estimated with sufficient accuracy to use any type of fixed price contract. As such, a cost-reimbursement type action was awarded (FAR 16.301-2).
