THIS POSTING IS STRICTLY A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE THAT IS PART OF A TECHNOLOGY RESEARCH SURVEY THAT IS BEING CONDUCTED FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY; IT IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS A SOLICITATION OR A REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS OR PROPOSALS. NEITHER PROPOSALS NOR QUOTATIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED AS A RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE. The U. S. Department of Commerce, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, Maryland seeks to identify potential sources that currently can provide, or will soon be able to provide, commercially available, soon-to-be commercially available, or prototype face (facial) recognition systems. Available systems may be selected by the Government to participate in the still face recognition track of the Multiple Biometric Evaluation (MBE) 2010, a government-sponsored technology evaluation of advanced face recognition technologies. Potential sources of face recognition technology will not be funded, nor charged, to participate in the MBE 2010. A generic format for gathering information on this topic has been established on the MBE website at http://face.nist.gov/mbe. Deadlines for submission are also listed on this site.
