RECOVERY -- PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE FOR A CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENT FOR THE INSTALLATION OF HIGHLY TECHNICAL LABORATORY EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS; PERFORMING LABORATORY RENOVATIONS; AND PERFORMING GENERAL FACILITY MAINTENANCE AT THE NIST, GAITHERSBURG, MD CAMPUS.
The requirement is for the installation of laboratory equipment, which may include the following associated work with the installation: sitework; concrete work; masonry work; carpentry work; moisture protection work; door, window and glass work; finish work; speciality work; equipment work; equipment specialties; special construction; mechanical work; electrical work; rigging of laboratory equipment and tools; and laboratory reconstruction and renovation.
The standard classification NAICS code is 236220 -- Commercial and Institutional Building Construction. With a small business size standard of $33.5 million. THIS WILL BE A SMALL BUSINESS SET ASIDE.
A detailed Statement of Work will be available when the solicitation is issued. The Statement of Work will be made public when the solicitation has been issued. It is anticipated that task orders will be awarded using ARRA funding and non-ARRA funding.
The Government intends to award Multiple Award Indefinite-Delivery-Indefinite-Quantity Contracts with a base year and four (4) option periods. The period of performance will be five (5) years from the date of contract award.
All responsible sources may submit a proposal, in response to the upcoming solicitation, which shall be considered by the agency. The competitive solicitation, solicitation amendments, and all questions and answers relating to this procurement shall be made available via the Internet at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. The solicitation is anticipated for release to the vendor community on or about December 3, 2009, and will only be available on FEDBIZOPPS at the above website. Potential offerors are responsible for accessing the website for all information regarding the solicitation. Interested paries must respond to the solicitation in order to be considered for award of any resultant contract.
NIST will not mail paper copies of the request for proposal or any affiliated documents. No telephone requests will be honored and NO BIDDERS LIST will be maintained. Potential offerors are required to direct all questions via email to robin.jeffries@nist.gov.
