This Invitation for Bids followsthe General Procurement Noticefor this Project that appeared in Development Business,issue no. 629 of April 30, 2004 2. The Government of Eritrea has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA)of the World Bank towards the cost of Eritrea Education Sector Investment Projectand it intends to apply part of the proceeds of the credit to paymentsunder the Contract for Construction of Mensheb (Lot 1) andForo (Lot 2) Secondary Schools. 3. The Eritrea Education Sector Investment Project # Project Management Unit (EESIP #PMU) now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for Construction ofMensheb and Foro SecondarySchools. The construction period is: 365days. 4. Bidding will be conducted throughthe International CompetitiveBidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines, Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries asdefined in the Bidding Documents. 5. Qualifications requirements include: Key Personnel: qualification and experience of keysite management and technical personnel to be made available for the contract by successful bidder shallbe:- · Project Engineer, Building Engineer or equivalent with experience of 5 years in similarworks. · General foreman, technical school graduate with 3 years experience in similar works, or having practicalexperience of 5 years and who can read drawings. Financialqualification: The bidder shall furnish an audited financial statement for the lasttwo years. Legaldocumentation: The bidder shall furnishthe necessary documents evidencing its legal registration in one of the eligible member countries. A margin of preference foreligible national contractors/joint ventures shall be applied. 7. Acomplete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders onthe submission of a written Application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee of ERN 1,000.00 (onethousand Nakfa only), starting November 17, 2009.
