The project includes double chain (a two-way treatment completed in opposite directions) approximately 1,090 acres of burned PJ and scattered shrubs; the total area to be chained is 2,180 acres. Two metal tracked tractors shall operate as a single unit, one on each end of an anchor chain that weighs approximately 32,000 pounds. They shall operate parallel to each other, pulling the chain in a �U� shape pattern, clearing approximately a 100 foot swath swivel to swivel. Each swath must meet or overlap the adjoining swath. The second pass of the two-way chaining should be done in the reverse direction of the first pass. The project area will be seeded between the completion of the first pass and commencement of the second pass of the chain. A Contractor will furnish the tractors with operators, supporting equipment and fuel to do the chaining. The project is located in Millard County Approximately 3 to 6 miles south of Scipio, Utah, west of the US highway 50. Access to the job site is by a combination of state highways, maintained county roads, and private 4-wheel drive roads. An organized site visit is scheduled on December 1, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the Scipio Fire Station, 160 North State Street, Scipio, Utah. This solicitation is 100% Small Business Set-Aside. Price Range is between $25,000 and $100,000. Solicitation will be available for download from FedBizOpps website at http://www.fbo.gov on or about November 30, 2009.
