Assignment Overview
Assignment Title: Promotion of Biomass Briquettes
Assignment Country: Congo, Dem Rep
Assignment Description
The objectives of the tasks to be undertaken under these Terms of Reference are (i) to establish a sales model for the effective sale of briquettes on the Goma Market (ii) to ensure the sale of 40,000 sacks of briquettes in North Kivu over six months, and (ii) to improve understanding of the factors determining household use of briquettes as a substitute for charcoal. Together, these objectives support the overall goal of increasing finance for the non-consumptive use of forest resources in North Kivu, and will help identify new finance mechanisms by initiating dialogue with relevant stakeholders and analyzing investment constraints and opportunities. The proposed activities will aid in the development of proposals for investment in briquette production, and will facilitate the implementation of these investment plans.
