The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Region 5 has a requirement for mechanical vegetation grinding at the Long Island National Wildlife Refuge Complex, Suffolk County, New York. The proposed work is for the mechanical grinding of vegetation of approximately 34 acres in two (2) refuges located within the Long Island National Wildlife Refuge Complex. The work includes all labor, equipment, and materials to cut and grind designated areas in accordance with the statement of work. Solicitation number 50181AR002 will be posted on or about December 3, 2009, and may be viewed through a link to the National Business Center Interior electronic acquisition system-Electronic Commerce at http://www.fedbizopps.gov The solicitation response date will be approximately 30 days from the posting date. Interested parties are invited to attend a pre-bid site visit scheduled at 11:00 am EST on Thursday, December 17, 2009. The meeting place for the site visit will be at the Long Island National Wildlife Refuge Complex Headquarters Office, 360 Smith Road, Shirley NY 11967. The Headquarters office is located off Route 80 Montauk Highway; however if directions are needed contact Mr. Gerald Vickers at 410-228-2692 ext 123. The NAICS code corresponding to this work is 115310, with a small business standard of $7 million dollars annually. The Service Contract Act will apply to this contract. This procurement is set-aside for small business. All responsible, qualified sources may submit a proposal for consideration. All contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) at www.ccr.gov and complete Online Representations and Certifications (ORCA) at http://www.bpn.gov to receive a contract award.
