CONSULTING SERVICES:     SURVEY AND DETAILEDDESIGN

This request forexpressions of interest follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in UN Development Business No. 705 of June 30^th 2007

TheGovernment of Vietnam/Can Tho City People's Committee has received a credit from theInternational Development Association (IDA) andintends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the contract for theConsultancy Services for Survey and Detailed Design of Thoi Thuan # Thanh Loc road section under the Component C ofMekong Delta Transport Infrastructure Development Project  

Theservices include Site survey and investigation;Detailed design of road and small bridges; Preparation of bidding documents for civil works packages; Preparation of the requestfor proposal (RFP) for construction supervision consultancy services

Theduration of the services: 2months

The projectfeatures: Thoi Thuan # Thanh Loc road, Phase 1. Theroad is situated in Thot Not and Vinh Thanh districts, Can Tho city. The Scope of the Civil Works is asfollows:

• Road Works
  • Total Road Length: 11.9 km
  • Beginning Point: Km0+000 at the intersection withNH91
  • End Point: Km11+900 (Thanh Loc Commune)
  • There are two distinct sections: From km0+000 to Km2+350 is the new section andsection from km2+350 to km11+900 is theexisting section but the realignment is required to avoid the erosionby the parallelcanal.
  • Road Technical Class: TC40 (Class V of Flat Terrain)
  • Standard Axial Load: 10 tons
  • Cross-section: single carriageway 3.5m, paved shoulders 2x1.0m, unpaved shoulders2x0.5m.
• Bridge Works
  • New construction of Bridges: 10 bridges of 342m in total length including Ca Cao,Rach Ban, Ut Duc, Pho Tien, T1, T2, T3, T4, T5 and T6
  • Bridge Load Standard: 0.65 HL93
  • Bridge Type: Reinforced Concrete
• Drainage System
  • Replacement of 7 culverts: Tap Doan 2, Tha La, LoMoi, Ong Phich, Ong Xep, NgonTrau Nho, Muong Lang
  • Pipe Culvert of 1000mm Diameter: 70m in totallength

The Can Tho Provincial Department of Transport under the authorization of Can Tho City People'sCommittee now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants mustprovide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments,experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may associate to enhance theirqualifications.

A consultant willbe selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of ConsultantsbyWorld Bank Borrowers, May 2004.

Interestedconsultants may obtain further information at the address below from 7:00to 11:00 and 13:00 to 17:00 hours of the working days in the period from16^th November to 04^th December 2009

Expressions ofinterest must be delivered to the address below by 17:00 of 04^th December 2009.
