Registrations of Interest are invited from suitably qualified organisations to undertake the role of Head Contractor for the Enhanced Land Force Stage 2 - Technical Training Wing, Defence Force School of Signals located at Simpson Barracks, Watsonia.
The project will involve construction of a new two-storey Technical Training Wing, refurbishment of an existing Covered Training Area and supporting infrastructure. The project is anticipated to commence in May 2010 with completion in March 2011. The total value of the project is estimated to be in the order of $18 million. The Invitation to Register Interest documents will be available from 16 November 2009. Copies of the Invitation to Register Interest documents are available from and any enquiries regarding the Invitation to Register Interest document should be directed to the ITR Administrator, Miss Alex Gildea, Davis Langdon via facsimile on (03) 9933 8801. An Applicant must submit its Registration of Interest: (a) by lodging it: (i) in the tender box located at: Defence Mail Services Infrastructure Division Queanbeyan Annex 6 14-22 Wycombe Street QUEANBEYAN NSW 2620; (ii) by 12.00pm noon AEDT on Thursday 17 December 2009; (b) in accordance with the conditions of participation (if any) specified below: Nil; and (c) otherwise in accordance with the requirements of clause 3.1(a) of the Invitation to Register Interest document. Tenders will be invited from a short list of entities selected on the basis described in the Invitation to Register Interest document. The National Code of Practice for the Construction Industry and the Australian Government Implementation Guidelines for the National Code of Practice for the Construction Industry, August 2009, apply to this project. The works are subject to approval under the Public Works Committee Act 1969 (Cth). The Australian Government Building and Construction OHS Accreditation Scheme authorised by the Building and Construction Industry Improvement Act 2005 (Cth) and the Building and Construction Industry Improvement (Accreditation Scheme) Regulations 2005 (Cth) applies to this contract.
