SECTION II: OBJECT OF THE CONTRACT
II.1) DESCRIPTION

II.1.5) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): Coillte is
seeking to enter into a Contract with an insurance broker to meet its
requirements for the provision of services pertaining to insurance
brokerage and risk advice for Coillte Teoranta, the liability insurance
needs of independent contractors engaged by Coillte, the insurances of
Coillte Panel Products (Smartply Europe Ltd and Medite Europe Ltd) and
Moylurg Rockingham Ltd.
Insurance Risk Projects Ltd (project manager: Damien Woods) have been
engaged to manage the process on our behalf.
It is anticipated that the Contract will commence in April 2010 and
continue for a period of three (3) years with an option to extend the
Contract for a further 1 or 2 years.
The contractor selection process will consist of two phases:
Phase 1 will involve broker tenderers submitting expressions of interest
via questionnaire attached to this notice and written submissions in
duplicate not later than 4pm on Thursday 10th December 2009 to Damien
Woods at Insurance Risk Projects Ltd Suite 3 The Mall, Beacon Court,
Bracken Road, Sandyford. Dublin 18 (soft copy to be emailed to
graham.devine@ril.ie).
Phase 2 will involve selected brokers approaching the insurance market in
accordance with instructions to be issued in due course and subsequently
putting forward insurance cover pricing (excluding commissions and
Government levy) propositions for Coillte consideration together with the
required fee for their brokerage services. Currently, it is envisaged that
no more than two Brokers will be invited to participate in Phase 2. It is
expected that phase 2 will commence in December 2009 and be completed in
April 2010 in advance of the May 2010 renewal date of the main aspects of
the current insurance programmes.
