SECTION II: OBJECT OF THE CONTRACT
II.1) DESCRIPTION

Construction of new build mixed use development at the former Inbev
Brewery, Glen Road, Belfast.

Main site or location of works: Former Inbev Brewery, Glen Road, Belfast.

II.1.3) The notice involves: A public contract.
II.1.5) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): Works include
the demolition and removal of all existing buildings to ground level and
the taking up, crushing and stockpiling on site of all existing concrete
surfaces as well as the provision of ten number trial pits for purpose of
site investigation.
Works also include the construction of 120 houses, 46 apartments and an
office/retail element complete with engineering services, external and
site development works. It is expected that all homes built under this
scheme will be Lifetime Homes compliant, achieve Secure by Design and will
achieve a minimum of Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3.
It is anticipated that work will commence during March 2010 and the
contract duration will be in the region of 30 months.

SECTION III: LEGAL, ECONOMIC, FINANCIAL AND TECHNICAL INFORMATION
III.1) CONDITIONS RELATING TO THE CONTRACT
III.1.1) Deposits and guarantees required: The Contracting Authority may
require guarantees or other security acceptable to the contracting
authority from tenderers. See Contract documents.

whom the contract is to be awarded: Subject to the status and involvement
of the parties, the contracting authority may require parties to commit to
joint and several liability in respect of the contract. Alternatively the
contracting authority may expect the lead operator to take total

warranties, parent company guarantees and/or performance bonds as
applicable to be entered into by other economic operators.
