Applications are invited from the reputed manufacturers / suppliers / contractors who wish to register themselves for the under mentioned supplies and services to the main complex of this University at Wellamadama; Faculty of Agriculture at Mapalana and Faculty of Medicine & Faculty of Engineering in Galle, for the year 2010.All applications should be sent under registered cover, with the words "Registration Of Suppliers For The Year 2010" marked on the top left-hand corner of the envelope, to reach the Senior Assistant Bursar (Supplies), University Of Ruhuna, MATARA, not later than 30.11.200B. A separate application should be forwarded for each category of the above supplies / services.
If you have registered for the purpose of VAT, the VAT registration number should be indicated on the application. If you are not registered for VAT, you are kindly requested to attach a copy of the certificate issued by the Commissioner of Inland Revenue certifying that you have not been registered for VAT.
Each applicant should pay a non-refundable fee of Rs 500/ - by money order / Cheque drawn in favour of Bursar, University of Ruhuna or in cash to the Shroff of the University for each application. The University of Ruhuna will generally call for quotations from the registered suppliers. However, it reserves the right to make inquiries from those who are not registered as well. Suppliers who fail to quote when requested or fail to make delivery in time or in conformity with the given requirements will be struck off the register without prior intimation. If you were not registered for VAT you are requested to refrain from applying for registration of suppliers.
Payments for all supplies and services will be made within 30 days on receipt of goods / completion of services and the goods should be delivered to our stores at whatever the location indicated in the purchase order / letter issued by the University.
