THE INFORMATION IN THIS SOLICITATION IS BROUGHT FORWARD FROM PREVIOUS SOLICITATION NUMBER DTFH68-09-00042. PROJECT DETAILS: The project is located about 0.5 miles North of Hill City, South Dakota, in Pennington County. The proposed project is in rolling and mountainous terrain at an elevation of approximately 5,200 feet. This project consists of spot safety improvements to approximately 0.73 miles of roadway at two separate locations (site 1 is at 0.34 miles and site 2 is at 0.39 miles) along South Dakota Forest Highway 17, also known as Deerfield Road. Spot safety improvements consist of realignment and reconstruction of Forest Highway 17, the installation of two grade separation structures (box culverts) for pedestrian crossings at the Mickelson Trail, the installation of a double cell box culvert at the Newton Fork Creek crossing, the installation of cross roadway pipe culverts, guardrail, roadway and driveway grading, asphalt concrete pavement, signing, pavement markings, and other incidental work. It is anticipated that construction will begin in the spring of 2010 and that this will be a single season project.
