SOLAR FOAM LTD. (SOLAR FOAM) is a 100% Nigerian owned private liability company with its factory located Solar Avenue, 5/6 , Lifida Road , Express Bye –Pass, Kaduna, Nigeria. The company was established in 1992 and has total work strength of 65 workers comprising 55 junior and 10 senior staff. The factory is made of one continuous foaming ( Viking 350) machine purchased in 1993 and installed the same year. The product from the company is mainly slabstock type of flexible PU foam, which is used for the manufacture of mattresses and other furniture applications. The current production process is based on the use of CFC-11 as auxiliary blowing agent. The replacement system will be based on Methylene Chloride (MC). The equipment offered should be capable to facilitate this in a safe way, i.e. avoid excessive human exposure to MC. Please note that it is possible that this bidding exercise does not result in the issuance of a purchase order.
