Applications are invited from Government Departments, Government Owned Business Undertakings, Public Corporations, reputed Suppliers, Local Agents, Manufacturers, Dealers, Business Organizations and Contractors who wish to register themselves with the University of Peradeniya for the supply of under mentioned Goods / Services for the year 2010. If registration is sought for more than one category separate applications should be sent for each category and all the applications may be sent in one envelope. A non-refundable fee of Rs.1000/= should be paid for the registration for each category by a Bank draft with the validity of 90 days, drawn in favour of "Bursar, University of Peradeniya". The Bank draft should be accompanied with applications. Cheque and Money Orders will not be accepted. Applicants should seek registration only for the items appearing in their business Registration Certificate. Applications on the contrary will not be considered.
The University reserves the right to accept or’ reject any application. Suppliers who have not responded to letters calling for quotations or defaulted or dishonored the orders awarded to them during the previous year may not Be considered for registration for the year 2010. However, the decision of the University Procurement Committee regarding the suppliers' registration will be final. Quotations will normally be called from the Registered Suppliers but the University reserves the right to call quotations from other sources too to obtain competitive offers.
Those suppliers, who wish to register themselves for the year 2010, should agree to offer credit facility at least for a period of 30 days. Application should be prepared according to the specimen given below. The envelope containing application/s marked "Application for Registration of Suppliers 2010" should be addressed to the Asst. Bursar / Local Supplies, University of Peradeniya, Peradeniya and should be mailed by Registered Post to reach him on or before 08th December, 2009.
Applications should be sent along with a photocopy of the relevant Business Registration Certificate. If a supplier is claiming VAT a certified copy of VAT Registration Certificate should be attached with the application. If the supplier is not claiming VAT a letter obtained from the Dept. of Inland Revenue informing that they are not liable to VAT should be attached to the application. Applications sent without the above certificates and incomplete applications will be rejected.
