The Bureau of Engraving and Printing is pleased to announce the issuance of a draft solicitation for the procurement of Distinctive Currency Paper for industry comment. All interested suppliers are encouraged to submit questions regarding the draft solicitation or suggestions to improve the solicitation to promote competition. The anticipated period of performance is January 1, 2010 through December 31, 2014. The draft solicitation provides for the possibility of multiple/split awards by paper type and denomination. The planned contract type is an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity type multiyear contract with fixed price line items. In addition, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing intends to hold a Currency Paper Conference on December 2, 2009. The conference will address the draft solicitation and request industries participation in providing comments and suggestions to promote competition. An amendment to this notice will contain all instructions and information regarding the Currency Paper Conference. All interested parties are invited to attend provided pre-registration is submitted. It is the Bureau of Engraving and Printing intent to periodically update this draft solicitation as Government requirements are finalized and to incorporate industry comments and concerns as appropriate. It is anticipated that a final solicitation will be issued on or about December 17, 2009.
