Arab Republic of Egypt Health Insurance Organization (HIO) Health Insurance Systems Development Project(HISDP) GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE Loan No: To be Determined Project ID No.: P080228 The Arab Republic of Egypt has applied for a loan in the amount of US$75 millionequivalent from the World Bank toward the cost of the Health Insurance Systems Development Project (HISDP), and it intends to applypart of the proceeds to the payments for goods, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project whichwill include the following components: i) Health Insurance Management InformationSystems Development. ii) ProjectManagement and Monitoring and Evaluation. The expected procurements under this project will include the following: i) The supply of HealthInsurance Operations and Management Information System. ii) The
selection of aHealth Insurance System Verification and Validation Firm. iii) The
supply of hardwareand related infrastructure for the implementation of the Management Information System above described. All consultants' services will be procured in accordance with the Guidelines:Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (current edition). All goods will be procured in accordance with provision of the WorldBank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDACredits, (current edition), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the guideline. Specific procurement notices for all ICB contracts will be publishedin the online edition of UN Development Business andin dgMarket. In addition, for goods to be procured through ICB, individual biddingopportunities will be advertised in a major national newspaper. Specific procurementnotices for consulting firms will be advertisedin a national newspaper and the request for expression of interest will beadvertised in the online edition of UN Development Business and in dgMarket.
