TANZANIA NATIONAL ROADSAGENCY SECOND CENTRAL TRANSPORT CORRIDOR PROJECT (CTCP 2) IDA CREDIT NO. 4455-TZ Invitation for Bids CONSTRUCTION OF DARBUS RAPID TRANSIT (BRT) INFRASTRUCTURE # PHASE 1 PACKAGE 6: FEEDER STATIONS Tender No: AE/001/2009-10/HQ/W/41 1. This invitation for bids follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in United Nations Development Business No. 709 of 31st August 2007 and in the Development Gateway's dgMarket and updated on 31st March2009. 2. The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has received creditfrom the International DevelopmentAssociation (IDA) towards the costof Second Central Transport Corridor Project (CTCP 2). It is intendedthat part of the proceeds ofthis credit will be applied to eligible payments under the contracts for Construction of Dar es Salaam Bus Rapid Transit (BRT)Infrastructure - Phase 1. 3. The Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) who is the ImplementingAgency now invites sealed bids fromeligible bidders for Constructionof BRT infrastructures # Package 6, which consist of 6 No Feeder Stations Sheds namely Shekilango,Urafiki, Magomeni Mapipa, Fire, Kinondoni "A" and Mwinyijuma; bituminous finished access roads to the above 6 no Feeder Stations.The construction period is 12 months. 4. Bidding will be conducted through National Competitive Bidding procedures specified in the World Bank'sGuidelines: Procurement under IDA Credits, May 2004, revised October 1, 2006 and are open tobidders from all countries as defined in guidelines. Domestic bidders shall not be eligible for margin ofpreference. 5. Bidders will be post-qualified for the above contract based on the following key qualificationcriteria:- (i) Experienceas prime contractor in the construction of at least two works of similar nature andcomplexity in the last five years. (ii) Minimum average annual construction turnover of US$5,000,000 (United States Dollars Five Million) equivalent for contracts inprogress or completed in the last five (5) years;and (iii) FinancialResources: The Bidder must demonstrate access or availability offinancial resources to meet a cash flow of US$ 1,000,000 (United States Dollars OneMillion) equivalent. (iv) Personnel and Equipment TheBidders must demonstrate that they have adequate qualified personnel andequipment as further defined in thebidding document, to execute the above mentioned works.
