SECOND CENTRAL TRANSPORT CORRIDOR PROJECT (CTCP2) IDA CREDIT NO. 4455-TZ Invitation for Bids CONSTRUCTION OF DAR BUS RAPID TRANSIT (BRT) INFRASTRUCTURE # PHASE 1 PACKAGE 2: UBUNGO DEPOT, FEEDER STATION AND UP-COUNTRY BUSSTATION Tender No. AE/001/2009-10/HQ//W/37 1. This invitation forbids follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in United NationsDevelopment Business No. 709 of 31st August 2007 and in the DevelopmentGateway's dgMarket and updated on 31st March 2009. 2. The Government ofthe United Republic of Tanzania has received creditfrom the International Development Association (IDA) towards the costof SecondCentral Transport Corridor Project (CTCP 2). It is intendedthat part of the proceeds of this credit will be applied to eligiblepayments under the contracts for Construction of BRT Infrastructures -Phase 1. 3. The TanzaniaNational Roads Agency (TANROADS) who is the ImplementingAgency now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for Constructionof BRTinfrastructures # Package 2, which involves Demolition of existing buildings; Construction of concrete and asphalt finished accessroad and parking lot about 107,970 square metres; Construction of DepotBuildings which consist of Administration Block, MainBuilding, Fuel Shed, Visual Inspection Shed, Generator House and 2 No Guard Houses; Construction of Feeder Station and ControlBuilding, which consist of Feeder Bus Shed, Control Building and Ablution Block, Generator House and Guard House; and Constructionof Up-Country Bus Station, which consist of Main Shed and Ticketing Offices ("the Works"). The construction period is 24 months including mobilizationperiod. 4. Bidding will beconducted through International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement underIDA Credits, May 2004, revised October 1, 2006 and are open to bidders from allcountries asdefined in guidelines. Domestic bidders shall not be eligible for margin of preference. 5. Qualificationrequirements include:- (i) Experience as primecontractor in the construction of at least two works of similar nature and complexity in the last five years; (ii) Minimum annual volume ofconstruction works of US$ 11,000,000 in the last five years; and (iii) Minimum amount of liquid assets and/or creditfacilities net of othercontractual commitments of US$ 1,500,000. O. Box11364, Dares Salaam. 8. Bids must bedelivered to The Secretary, TANROADS Headquarters TenderBoard, 3rd Floor, Maktaba Complex, Room 3, Bibi Titi MohamedRoad, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on or before 10:00 hours local time on Tuesday 9thFebruary, 2010. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security in original and in acceptable form in the amount of TanzaniaShillings: 250,000,000.00 (TwoHundred Million Fifty Thousand) or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency.
