Assignment Title: Microfinance Advisory Services Portfolio / Knowledge Management Analyst

Assignment Description

The Access to Finance Advisory Services unit (CAI), under the Vice Presidency of Business Advisory Services, is a joint World Bank/IFC group that caters to both policy and project related advisory work on financial markets, financial institutions and financial infrastructure. The STC Analyst would join the CAI Microfinance team which supports the implementation of IFC’s microfinance strategy. The key function under this position will be to support the microfinance program evaluation, specifically: • Conduct extensive qualitative and quantitative analysis of the IFC microfinance portfolio & global microfinance industry; prepare reports on portfolio trends and performance. • Mine databases and prepare presentations (in excel & power point) • Conduct extensive research for publications on microfinance models, best practices and lessons learned from internal/external sources. • Support preparation of internal and external thematic events (including organizing conferences, coordinating production and dissemination of print and online publications/media relevant to the program). • Provide assistance with procurement, setting-up of meetings and other ad-hoc tasks as may be requested by the supervisor.

Funding Source:

The World Bank intends to finance the assignment/services described below under a budget allocation for the Bank's administrative budget.

There are no eligibility restrictions.

Individual/Firm Profile:
The consultant should be an individual or an individual expert proposed by a firm.

Submission Requirements:
The World Bank now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.).
Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications.

Interested consultants are hereby invited to submit expressions of interest.

Consultants will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the current edition of the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers.

Selection and contracting will normally be made from responses to this notification. The consultant will be selected from a shortlist, subject to availability of funding.
