Assignment Overview

Assignment Title: Community-Based Disaster Risk Reduction (CBDRR) Curriculum and Module Development based on Community Resettlement Plan

Assignment Description

To achieve the above objectives, the following scope of works will need to be carried out: a.Assessment of capacity gaps of the facilitators in basic concept and application of DRR through community-based approach. This would be done using a combination of relevant diagnostic tools/tests and Focus Group Discussion involving samples of facilitators and DRR as well as pedagogic experts; b.Development of curriculum for fundamental on-the-job training on community-based DRR for CSP facilitators. This would be done by a team of experts with backgrounds in pedagogy, DRR and community-based development; c.Development of training modules designed to enhance the facilitators understanding on key concepts and practices in community-based DRR. The module should be developed in consultation with selected experienced facilitators; d.Compilation of resource materials on community-based DRR obtained from public domain sources. If key materials are written in English, then translation into Bahasa Indonesia would be required; and e.Testing of the curriculum and modules in selected refresher and new trainings for facilitators.

Funding Source:

The World Bank intends to finance the assignment/services described below under a trust fund from the GFDRR: INDONESIA: MAINSTREAMING DISASTER RISK REDUCTION.

Submission Requirements:
The World Bank now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.).
Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications.

Interested consultants are hereby invited to submit expressions of interest.

Consultants will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the current edition of the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers.

Selection and contracting will normally be made from responses to this notification. The consultant will be selected from a shortlist, subject to availability of funding.
