The Wastewater Management Authority is responsible for the collection, treatment and disposal of wastewater in a safe manner. In order to proceed with the implementation of a sewerage project in Mauritius, the WMA intends to appoint Engineering Consultancy Firms, to be referred to as “Consultants”, and having the necessary experience and engineering resources, to carry out the study for provision of sewerage facilities within the unsewered parts of Baie du Tombeau area, located in the North West region of the island.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

The study must be comprehensive and covers all the technical and financial issues of the project. The study shall contain a detailed analysis of various proposals to provide the WMA with the basis for decision making on aspects such as final design, project implementation, project phasing, operation and maintenance, etc.

PROJECT AREA

The Project Area boundary starts immediately after the Bois Marchand Cemetery and Florida Lane in Bois Marchand, and extends towards the south between the Northern Entrance Road and the Port Louis – Central Flacq Road to reach Rivulet Terre Rouge. Past the Port Louis- Central Flacq Road, to the North of Avenue (Allée) Père Laval up to Montagne Longue Road, it covers the major residential areas of Morcellement Raffray, Le Hochet, Morcellement Foondun Terre Rouge and Morcellement Tara. The Project Area is bounded on its eastern part by Long Mountain and Prof. Hassan Raffa State Secondary School.

The regions of Sainte Croix bounded on one side by Long Mountain and on the other by Ste Marie Street are also included within the Project Area. This Section of the Project Area ends approximately with the houses located on the opposite of La Cure Bus Terminal.

In this respect, the WMA is inviting Expression of Interest from Consultants who can provide the services for Feasibility Study, EIA, Detailed Design, Bidding Documents for sewerage network & pumping stations and Upgrading of the Existing Wastewater Treatment Plant at Baie du Tombeau.

The Consultancy Services are expected to be provided for a period of twelve months from the effective starting date.

The Contract is being funded by the World Bank.
Consultancy firms with proven experience in the field are requested to provide the relevant information as per the enclosed format of Forms1-5. The information requested will be required to enable the Client to make a judgment of the firm’s capability. The shortlisted Consultants will be invited to submit proposals for the abovementioned project.

Forms 1-5 can be downloaded from the WMA website http://wma@intnet.mu. The forms are also available at the WMA Registry, WMA, 6th Floor Celicourt Building, Celicourt Antelme Street, Port Louis during office hours ( 09 00 hrs – 16 00 hrs)

Expressions of Interest in 1 original and 2 copies, together with the duly filled forms shall be contained in a plain sealed envelope addressed to the:
