Description Rail Corporation New South Wales (RailCorp) is a New South Wales Government Agency constituted under the Transport Administration Act 1988 (NSW), with responsibility for the provision of passenger rail services within New South Wales.
The existing Public Address (PA) systems on stations were installed decades ago and most of them were life-expired. RailCorp embarked an Audio Proof of Concept project in July 2008 in order to establish a suitable technology for audio arrangements at the majority of CityRail stations; enabling subsequent rollout in future projects.
Three different technologies were selected for Audio Proof of Concept trial;100V Line System, Digital PA Subsystem and Wireless PA System. With the consideration of sound clarity, noise spillage, business and operational needs, Digital PA technology is selected as the most suitable technology for deployment to typical stations.
RailCorp intends to establish two supply agreements to provide the equipment stipulated in this tender document. One supply agreement is to supply Digital PA Subsystem and the other agreement is to supply the peripheral equipment.
RailCorp may establish one supply agreement only if there is a supplier who may supply all equipment specified in the tender document.
