II.1) DESCRIPTION:

Water Sampling and Analysis Services (Operator Self Monitoring).

Main place of performance: Sampling at approx. 720 sites within the Severn
Trent area and transportation to a suitably accredited laboratory.
Chemical analysis of samples carried out and results communicated within
agreed timescales. The Severn Trent area stretches from the Humber estuary
to the Bristol Channel and from Mid-Wales to East-Midlands.

II.1.4) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): The provision
of a Sampling and Analysis service for Sewage Works final effluents. To
comply with the Environment Agency Operator Self Monitoring (OSM)
programme.
The routine taking of waste water effluent samples from Sewage Treatment
Works (approx. 720 sites and 7000 samples per annum).
Collection of the samples and delivery to a specified location.
Transportation of Samples to a suitably accredited laboratory for
Analysis.
Receipt and registration of samples for analysis.
Analysis of samples within specified timescale.
Reporting results of analysis to Severn Trent Water.
It is our intention to award the contract for 3 years with two additional
option periods of 1 year (totalling 5 years).
Bids will be accepted for either :
1.Sampling and Analysis
2.Sampling Only
3.Analysis Only
We reserve the right to combine the above lots if it makes strategic sense
during the process, award the contract as a whole or as two separate lots
i.e. Options 2 and 3.
