DescriptionREQUEST FOR TENDER  AusAID, the Australian Agency for International Development, manages the Australian Government's official overseas aid program. AusAID assists developing countries to reduce poverty and achieve sustainable development. NZAID is the agency within the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade that manages New Zealand's official development assistance program and provides policy advice on international development issues. NZAID's mission is to: Support sustainable development in developing countries in order to reduce poverty and to contribute to a more secure, equitable, and prosperous world. Through AusAID and in partnership with the Government of Papua New Guinea, AusAID and NZAID are seeking a contractor to provide services related to implementation of Scholarship Programs in Papua New Guinea: Scholarships PNG Under Scholarships PNG, the Australian and New Zealand Governments provide: scholarships for individuals from Papua New Guinea to study in Australia and New Zealand; Supports students from other Pacific Island Countries undertaking study in PNG; and provides professional development opportunities through PNG civil society organisations. Four primary scholarship programs will be supported by this tender: the Australian Development Scholarships which is targeted to PNG's priority human resource and development needs through full time postgraduate and undergraduate study in Australia; the Australian Leadership Awards to develop leadership and build linkages within the Asia-Pacific; and the NZ Development Scholarships-Public and NZ Development Scholarships-Open Categories both seeking to strengthen PNG's human resource base by supporting identified priority areas. The services include scholarship promotion and selection, placement of students into Australian and New Zealand universities, and assisting students returning to PNG. The services will also include pastoral care for students from the Pacific studying in PNG under the Regional Development Scholarship Scheme (ARDS/NZRDS); support for the PNG-Australia and PNG-New Zealand Alumni Associations; the delivery of professional development programs through PNG civil society and professional organisations to strengthen individual and organizational capacity; and support to facilitate the link between local organisations and appropriate host organisations for the Australian Leadership Awards Fellowship program.  It is anticipated that the Services will commence by April 2010 and will continue until April 2013.
