Minimum Specifications:

• Instrument must be based on High-Temperature Tube Combustion with infrared absorption as per ASTM Standard D-4239, D-5016, D-1552 or D-1619.
• Instrument must use infrared detectors for each element (sulfur or carbon), and have range selection or auto-selection capabilities controlled by the operator.
• Instrument must be modular for elements, and upgradeable with fields kits (from sulfur to sulfur/carbon or carbon to sulfur/carbon)
• Instrument must be compatible to an automation technique that provides a sample throughput capacity of at least fifty samples.
• Instrument must be capable of performing analyses on macro samples up to 350 mg in a reusable ceramic sample container. Samples sizes may vary depending upon the sample density, concentration and methodology requirements established by governing bodies (i.e. ASTM).
• Instrument must provide a dedicated lance tube as a combustion gas inlet. The inlet directs pure oxygen over the container while inside of the combustion furnace. The lance tube also aides in fast combustion or organic matrices.
• Instrument must use a combustion tube that is positioned horizontally within the instrument. The combustion tube must be capable of temperature control up to 1450° C with accuracy of +/-1% of the set point.
• The furnace must be concentric in design to ensure complete combustion of the evolved gases. All evolved gases will pass through the hottest portion of the combustion tube twice-ensuring maximum exposure to the hottest portion of the combustion tube.
• Instrument must use (6) 5/8-inch diameter Silicon Carbide Heating elements in the furnace of the instrument. They must be positioned in a semi-circle around the top of the combustion tube to ensure maximum heating exposure and long-tem endurance.
• Instrument must provide compatibility to an external balance.
• Instrument must use Windows XP (or higher) operating software that supports compliance to 21 CFR Part 11 regulations, contains an on-board help manual, performs wellness checks based on user-defined service conditions, and connects seamlessly to Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
• Instrument vendor must provide remote service diagnostics with a separate software package that is designed specifically to connect the user with the instrument vendor's service personnel.
• Instrument must provide direct manufacturing and sales/support of their product. This product will not be distributed through a third party.
• Vendor must have a factory trained service engineer with a factory training certificate for the support of the equipment.
• Vendor must submit a certificate issued by a reputable local customer whose service engineer has conducted actual installation and training on the machine installed.
• Instrument must have a range @ 350 mg and precision as follows: Instrument range 10 ppm or 0.001% to 28%, Precision at 5 ppm or 1% RSD (whichever is greater)
• Installation, commissioning of equipment and operator's training at site be conducted by vendor's service engineer at PNOC EC's account.
• Item offered must be branded and brand new.
• Warranty: At least One (1) year on service and parts.
• As an after sales support, vendor shall offer preventive maintenance contract for a fee after the warranty period to keep the unit on top condition.
• Vendor must include in the package training for one (1) operator at the factory.
