SECTION II: OBJECT OF THE CONTRACT
II.1) DESCRIPTION

II.1.5) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): This is a
non-mandatory OJEU Notice for a National Standards Assessment and
Accreditation Business Support Service. BE-NE employs a number of both
field based and office based staff with direct customer facing roles. To
ensure that all of these staff are assessed and accredited to the
appropriate National Occupational Standards, BE-NE requires an Assessment
and Accreditation Service to provide the following key services:
— Initial assessment/accreditation of:
—— all Business Advisors to the Business Link broker standards including
sector specialists,
—— all Business Support Advisors to the Business Link broker standards,
—— all Business Advisors (people) to the Skills Broker standards.
— Re-accreditation of:
—— all Business Advisors to the Business Link broker standards including
sector specialist,
—— all Business Support Advisors to the Business Link broker standards,
—— all Business Advisors (People) to the skills broker standards.
The contract is to commence at the beginning of March 2010 and the
appointed firm must be in a position to fully commence the delivery of the
contract by then. This will involve as a minimum the undertaking of a
launch event. The contract will run from March 2010 until the 31.3.2012.
There is a potential for the contract to be extended for a further 12
months.

II.2.1) Total quantity or scope: A contract to deliver a National
Standards Assessment and Accreditation Business Support service commencing
in March 2010 and running until March 2012 with the possibility of a 12
month extension. The contract will be delivered initially in the North
East of England but it could be extended to anywhere in the UK. The
contract is subject to further potential business opportunities that BE-NE
is currently considering and a review of its own internal arrangements.
Estimated value excluding VAT:
Range: between 225 000,00 and 600 000,00 GBP.

II.3) DURATION OF THE CONTRACT OR TIME-LIMIT FOR COMPLETION: Starting:
1.3.2010. Completion: 31.3.2012.
