Scope of work CONSTRUCTION PART

The project comprises the reconstruction of the Najma Road extension from its junction with the E Ring Road to just before the F Ring as per the attached Location Plan. The Road is specified as a District Distributor with 2km in length and 64m corridor and will provide access to Zone 46, with more than 2100 planned housing allotments.
The work also comprises with the construction of main roads as well as internal roads for package 2, package 3, package 4, package 5 and package 6.
Also included in the works is the RE-DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION of ROAD E01 (including intersections) as per drawings RA 07/08 C 016 G/P2/GE-0007 and 008 (in the tender documents).
The approximate lengths of the roads according to relevant packages are as follows:
For package 1 the approximate length is 2,000 metre for 64 m corridor.
For package 2 the approximate length is 3,430 m for 32 - 34 m corridor as well as it includes road E01 and it’s intersections as Design / Build Contract.
For package 3 the approximate length is 7,180 m for 16 - 20 m corridor and 1,918 m for 20-24 m corridor.
For package 4 the approximate length is 7,750 m for 16 - 20 m corridor and 1,828 m for 20-24 m corridor.
For package 5 the approximate length is 11,183 m for 16 - 20 m corridor and 1,982 m for 20-24 m corridor.
For package 6 the approximate length is 11,697 m for 16 - 20 m corridor and 2,143 m for 20-24 m corridor.

For RE-DESIGN / BUILD part, approximate length of road E01 is 1,980m plus intersecting roads.

The works consists of re-design and construction of indicated sections, as well as full road construction, substantial protection/ relocation and upgrading of existing services for the rest of the project. In addition to instalment of a major signalised intersection, as shown on drawings, specifications and bills of quantities, but not limited to the following:
Site clearance
Surface drainage works, trench soakaway system and catchments chambers
Earthworks, preparation to road formation.
Granular sub-base
Asphalt works
Kerbing works; footways, footpaths, and paved areas
Traffic signs and road markings
Traffic signal for Najma Road and E-Ring Intersection as well as, between road E01- E Ring road, road E05 -E06, road E05- E01 and road E05- E07 and associated works.
Public utility services: Coordination, installation and commissioning of proposed pipes, cables, ducts, manholes, chambers, connection to existing services, provision for future services; diversions and protection of existing services for:
o Water works
o Electricity EHV/HV and MV/LV works.
o Street lighting works
o Q-Tel works
o Foul sewerage works
o TSE works
