Construction of Water Supply Intake and Facilities for Shamakhi Rayon (NWS/4-2-1)

The Republic of Azerbaijan has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the National Water Supply and Sanitation Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for the Construction of Water Supply Intake and Facilities for Shamakhi Rayon. The “Azersu” Joint Stock Company now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the Contract No: DB/7460/LV/004/85 to construction of water intake facilities, transmission mains, water storage reservoirs, pumping station, chlorination facility and etc.

The delivery/construction period is 240 days.

Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, (May 2004, revised October 2006 edition), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents from the “Azersu” Joint Stock Company at the address below during office hours from 1000 to 1600 hours. A complete set of bidding documents in English language may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of two hundred Azerbaijani Manats (AZN200) or two hundred fifty United States Dollars (US$250). The method of payment will be direct deposit to the bank account specified below. The document could be sent by courier service for overseas delivery if requested and if additional nonrefundable fee of fifty Azerbaijani Manats (AZN50) or sixty United States Dollars (US$60) is deposited to the same bank account.

All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of AZN 80,000 (eighty thousand Azerbaijani Manats) or USD 100,000 (one hundred thousand United States Dollars) or Euro 67,000 (sixty seven thousand Euro) and be delivered to the address below by 16:00 Baku time on December 10, 2009. They will be opened immediately thereafter, in the presence of bidders’ representatives, who choose to attend, at the address below. Late bids will be rejected.
