II.3) SHORT DESCRIPTION OF NATURE AND QUANTITY OR VALUE OF SUPPLIES OR
SERVICES: South Tyneside Council is the administering authority of the
Tyne and Wear Pension Fund. As at 30.9.2009 the Fund was valued at GBP 3
800 000 000. The Fund is reviewing its investment management arrangements.
Whilst a final decision on which mandates will be tendered has not yet
been taken, the review is likely to include a number of quoted equity
mandates and global property.

VI.1) CONTRACT RELATED TO A PROJECT AND/OR PROGRAMME FINANCED BY

VI.2) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: At this stage of the process there is no
requirement for prospective tenderers to contact the Council. This prior
information notice has been placed in OJEU to make the market aware that a
tender process will commence in the near future. The formal tender notices
are expected to be placed in December. These formal notices will include
details of how prospective tenderers can apply for pre-qualification
questionnaires and be considered for inclusion on the selected list of
tenderers.
