Award was made on the base bid as stated below: MAIN BID: Provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment supervision necessary to complete Project 521-08-117, Upgrade Research Labs 4th & 5th Floors at the VA Medical Center, 700 South 19th Street, Birmingham, Alabama 35233, in accordance with plans and specifications. Contractor shall completely prepare site for building operations, including demolition and removal of existing flooring, doors, windows, casework and installation of new laboratory casework, doors, wall repairs, exhaust fans, and new architectural finishes. Work includes general construction, alterations, architectural finishes, plumbing, mechanical and electrical work, utility systems, necessary removal of existing structures and construction and certain other items identified within the contract documents and as indicated on the construction drawings. Contract completion time is 180 calendar days. Working hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Work done outside of this timeframe must be coordinated with the COTR. Painting has to be done after 4:30 p.m.
