Main lube and scavenge pump is a three element valve pump; one for lubricating oil and 2 for scavenge oil, the pump also features a cold weather start bypass valve, a static leak check valve, clogged filter bypass valve, a magnetic chip detector that is removable for inspection, and inlet oil supply shutoff valve.  Main lube and scanvenge pump is to provide pressurized filtered oil to lubricate and cool main bearings, seals, and gears.  The pump also scavenges oil from the pumps and the gearbox and returns it to the oil tank.
