REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI)

FOR

CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR A COMPREHENSIVEKIMBIJI AQUIFER GROUNDWATER ASSESSMENT STUDY 

1.       This request for expression of interest follows the GeneralProcurement Notice for WSDP that appeared in the United Nations Development Business, under notice no. WB320-696/07 of 17 January,2007.

2.       The government of the United Republic of Tanzania has receivedfinancing from Development Partners toward the cost of the Water Sector Development Programme (WSDP) and intends to apply part ofthe proceeds for consultancy services. The services include but are not limitedto:

·           Detailed assessment of theaquifer

·            Preparation of tenderdocuments for drilling of exploratory wells

·           Supervision of the drillingworks

·            Development of the groundwater model monitoring system

·            Preparation of the groundwater master plan

·            Review and finalization ofthe environmental and social Impact assessment for the master plan

3.       The Dar es Salaam Water and Sewerage Authority (DAWASA) nowinvites eligible consultants to express their interest in providing the above services. Interested firms must submit informationindicating that they are qualified and capable to perform the services (brochures, descriptions of similar assignments, experiencein similar conditions, the names and contact address of clients served, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc).Consultants may associate to enhance theirqualifications.

4.       A Consultant will be selected in accordance with theprocedures set out in the World Bank's "Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers" dated May2004; Revised October 2006.

5.      Interested consultants may obtain further information at the addressbelow during office hours from 8:00 to 15:30 hours, Mondays toFridays inclusive, except on public holidays.

6.       Expressions of Interest in a sealed envelope clearly marked "Expression of Interest forprovision of consultancy services for detailed assessment of the Kimbiji aquifer", must be delivered to the address below by 10:00hours local time on Monday November 30, 2009.
