SECTION II: OBJECT OF THE CONTRACT
II.1) DESCRIPTION

Provision of Janitorial and Laundry Detergent Products.

Main place of delivery: Various sites across Scotland.

II.1.3) The notice involves: A public contract.
II.1.5) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): The SPS wishes
to establish Contract(s) to enable the supply and provision of a range of
miscellaneous standard janitorial and laundry detergent items to any and
all SPS locations included in this project which have a requirement.
The scope of this project covers five key areas: chemical goods such as
bactericidal detergent and hard surface cleaner; paper goods such as
toilet tissue and disposable hand wipes; janitorial hardware such as
dustpan and mops; response (biohazard products) such as sharps containment
and mattress disposal kit; and laundry detergent.
Historically, SPS expenditure on janitorial and laundry detergent items
has been approximately 1 000 000 GBP per annum. Please note: the SPS will
not guarantee annual volumes for individual items throughout its sites.
Similarly there will be no guarantee of minimum order quantities or
values.
It is the intention that any Contract(s) awarded as a result of this
Tender process will be for the provision of a fully managed, flexible and
reliable service and goods provision that meets the requirements of the
SPS.
Potential suppliers or contractors should note that Disclosure Scotland
criminal record checks will be required for individuals engaged by
suppliers and contractors whose duties require them to enter or work
within SPS premises. For example, escorted installation activities would
require Basic Disclosure whilst unescorted activities with regular
prisoner contact may require individuals to hold Basic / Standard
Disclosure. You should note that some offences may disqualify an
individual from working within SPS premises. SPS may also refuse to admit
individuals to our premises that are unable to evidence that valid
Disclosure Scotland checks have been undertaken. In such cases, the
supplier or contractor would remain liable for performance of the

to be 2 years with any number of extensions totalling 2 years.

III.2.2) Economic and financial capacity: Information and formalities
necessary for evaluating if requirements are met: (1) All candidates will
be required to provide a statement, covering the 3 previous financial
years including the overall turnover of the candidate and the turnover in
respect of the activities which are of a similar type to the subject
matter of this notice.
