CA PFH 119-1(3) Pre-show Notice A project on the Quincy-Oroville Highway and Big Creek Roads, in Plumas County, CA PFH 119-1(3), is tentatively scheduled for advertising in the winter/spring of 2010. This notice is being given because weather and site conditions may prevent viewing at the time of advertising for bids. This route starts at the east end of SR 162 east of Oroville and proceeds easterly 51.95 miles to the intersection with SR 70 in Quincy. The project will be split is up to three segments. The first segment starts approximately 46.5 miles from the turnoff of SR 162 from Oroville Dam Blvd. in Oroville or 9 miles north and east of the Butte/Plumas County Line. This segment extends east for 5.6 miles and contains 0.28 miles of realignment at the grizzly creek bridge area. The proposed bridge will be a precast, prestressed concrete bulb-tee girder founded on H piles, single span, with a cast-in-place deck. The remainder of the work in this segment consists mostly of pavement rehabilitation with some drainage improvements. The second segment is on Big Creek Road, CR 423, and starts approximately 3.7 miles east of the Big Creek Road/Bucks Lake Road intersection at Buck�s Lake. This section consists of pavement rehabilitation. The third segment, also on Big Creek Road, starts approximately 7.7 miles east of the Big Creek Road/Bucks Lake Road intersection at Buck�s Lake and proceeds 1.1 miles east and north. This segment includes pavement rehabilitation, a mechanically stabilized retaining wall, and some drainage improvements. The work also consists of associated items including, but not limited to; clearing and grubbing, contractor testing, survey and staking, erosion control, removals, signing and striping, subexcavation, drainage, seeding, fencing, and traffic control {Please refer to attachment for approximate project quantities}. A project showing is scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, 2009. Preliminary plans and specifications will be available for review at the project showing but must be returned upon completion of site visit. Potential bidders should meet at 10:00 a.m. local time at the intersection of the Quincy-Oroville Highway and Bucklin Road in the parking area in the northwest corner. The parking area is located west of Buck�s Lake approximately 1.1 miles west from the intersection with Buck�s Lake Road {Please refer to attachment for maps and locations}.
