GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE

The Government of Lao People’s Democratic Republic has received a Grant in the amount of US$ three (3) million equivalents from the International Development Association (IDA) toward the cost of the Rice Productivity Improvement Project (RPIP), and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project.

The Rice Productivity Improvement Project will include the following components:

Component 1: Support to Rice Research and Seed Multiplication Centers (Based cost $1.32 million).

Component 2: Support to Farmer Seed Groups and On-Farm demonstrations (Based cost $1.09 million)

Component 3: Management Monitoring and Evaluation (based cost 0.59 million).

The following will be procured:
* Goods: Field and Office Equipment, Computers and accessories, Vehicles and Motorcycles, Farm equipment and etc,..
* Consulting Services (External Financial Audit, International Procurement Consultant, NGO contract-group formation methodology and testing )
* Civil works (Rice Station Constructions & Renovations)

Procurement of contracts financed by the Grant will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines Procurement under IBRD Loan and IDA Credits, May 2004, revised October, 2006, and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines.

Consulting services will be selected in accordance with the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers, May 2004, revised October , 2006.

Specific procurement notices for contracts to be bid under the World Bank’s International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures and for large-value consultants’ contracts will be announced, as they become available, in the UN Development Business and dgMarket as well as in local newspapers.

Interested eligible bidders who wish to be included on the mailing list to receive an invitation to bid under ICB procedures, and interested consultants who wish to receive a copy of the advertisement requesting expressions of interest for large-value consultants’ contract, or those requiring additional information, should contact the address below :
