this project is to undertake research and develop detailed waste resource
maps; quantifying food waste and packaging waste arisings for a selection
of chilled and frozen pre-prepared foods in the retail supply chain. The
resource map will also detail overall company water usage, consumption and
disposal.

II.2) QUANTITY OR SCOPE OF THE CONTRACT
II.2.1) Total quantity or scope: WRAP wish to undertake this work because
good quality, detailed data is not currently available and is required to
better understand where and why waste is being generated, how it can be
prevented and how water usage can be improved. WRAP has challenging
targets to reduce food and packaging waste in the retail supply chain
within this business plan period. The insights generated from this
research will enable detailed guidance to be developed which can be used
by businesses to make strategic interventions within their operations
which will prevent waste. By disseminating the findings, good practice
case studies and the guidance documents, WRAP and industry leaders can
cascade change across the sector.
