Invitation for Bids (IFB) Socialist Republic of Viet Nam Mekong Regional Health Support Project 4153-0 VN Procurement of Medical Equipment forHospitals CPMU/WB 4153-0 VN/ICB-3/2009 1. This Invitation for Bids follows the GeneralProcurement Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business, issue no. 696 of February 16, 2007 (repeated/updated in Development Business, issue no. 719 of January 31, 2008, issue no. 745 February 28, 2009. 2. The Socialist Republic of Viet Nam has received a credit from the International Development Association toward the cost of the Mekong Regional Health Support Project, and it intends to apply part of theproceeds of this credit to payments under the ContractforProcurement of Medical Equipment for Hospitals (CPMU/WB 4153-0 VN/ICB-3/2009). 3. The Central Project Management Unit (CPMU) now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders forProcurement of Medical Equipment for the Can Tho Central General Hospital and other 9 Provincial Hospitals in the Mekongregion. Lot 1: Equipment for operating and anesthesia intensivecare Lot 2: Equipment for Microbiology Laboratory &Pathology Lot 3: Equipment for Hematology andBlood transfusion & BiochemistryLaboratory Lot 4: Equipment for Odonto stomatology The delivery period is 90 days from contract effectiveness. 4. Bidding will be conducted through theInternational Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all biddersfrom Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines. 5. Qualifications requirements include: local after sales service and availability of consumables and spares;successfulcompletion of at least two contracts involving the supply and installation of similar quantity andtype of equipment within the past five (5) years.
