This Invitation for Bids followsthe General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business,issue no. 696 of February 16, 2007 (repeated/updated in Development Business, issue no. 719 of January 31, 2008; issue no. 745February 28, 2009. 2. The Socialist Republic ofViet Nam has received a credit from theInternational Development Association towardthe cost of the Mekong Regional Health SupportProject, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract for Procurement of MedicalEquipment for 13 Preventive Health Centers (CPMU/WB 4153-0 VN/ICB-05/2009). 3. The Central Project Management Unit (CPMU) nowinvites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for Procurement of Medical Equipment for 13Preventive Health Centers in the Mekongregion. Lot 1: Spectrophotometer and Chromatography; Lot 2: Laboratoryequipment. 4. Bidding will be conducted throughthe International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries asdefined in the Guidelines. 5. Interested eligible bidders mayobtain further information from CPMU,mrhsp.proc@fpt.vn; mrhspvietnam@ymail.com and inspect the Bidding Documentsatthe address (1) given below from 08:00 am to 11:30a.m and 01:30 pm to 4:30 pm. 6. Qualifications requirements include: local after sales service and availability of consumables and spares; successful completion of at least two contracts involving the supply andinstallation of similar quantity and type of equipment within the past five (5) years.
