SECTION II.B: OBJECT OF THE CONTRACT (SUPPLIES OR SERVICES)
II.1) TITLE ATTRIBUTED TO THE CONTRACT BY THE CONTRACTING AUTHORITY:
Supply of Electronic Assistive Technology Products, including
Installation, Service and Maintenance.
II.2) TYPE OF CONTRACT AND PLACE OF DELIVERY OR OF PERFORMANCE: Supplies.

II.3) SHORT DESCRIPTION OF NATURE AND QUANTITY OR VALUE OF SUPPLIES OR
SERVICES: Supply, installation, support, service, maintenance, repair,
withdrawal and reconditioning of electronic assistive technology
equipment, where appropriate, which will enable people with disabilities
to communicate, function independently or be maintained in safety within
their home and/or habitual environment.
Estimated cost excluding VAT:
Range: between 4 000 000 and 6 000 000 GBP.

II.6) CONTRACT COVERED BY THE GOVERNMENT PROCUREMENT AGREEMENT (GPA): No.
II.7) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The Framework Agreement will be between NHS
Supply Chain and the Supplier, however 1) NHS Supply Chain, 2) and NHS
Trust; 3) any other NHS entity; 4) any government department, agency or
other statutory body and/or 5) any private sector entity active in the UK
healthcare sector will be able to enter into a direct contract with the
Supplier for any of the supplies and/or services under the Framework. The
Supplier will be required to and pay a direct contract management fee to
NHS Supply Chain as detailed in the tender documents. NHS Supply Chain is
not currently able to advise if this contract would be divided into lots,
however more details will be available once the OJEU is available. Direct
Contract Products As set out in the tender documents when available The
Framework Agreement between NHS Supply Chain and successful suppliers will
reserve the right to purchase the same or similar supplies and/or services
from suppliers not appointed to the Framework Agreement at its sole
discretion. The purpose of this notice is to draw attention to a
procurement that NHS Supply Chain intends to commence during the
subsequent 12 months. The invitation to offer will be the subject of a
separate notice and it is that notice to which potential suppliers will
need to respond at the appropriate time.
